UI - On Approach... Transferable Skills

Defining Scope

Well ideas in the beginning could be a bit wild free from feedback. After a full round of feedback you get a glimpse first official "change-of-scope" hits. It could be a result of miscommunication or simply departments running off on their own paths. Whether its politics or even a (same) language issue, this type of debacle can break momentum for the teams at such and early stage. Departments tend to have their own context influencing projects. Without clarity influences becomes the job and less gets done. Clarity has always been a big part of it for me, even if it appears to be unattainable.

Concepts & Prototypes

You want to hash out as much as you can and it can't be done without a proper audit. Your concepts should include the tech on the table. And the tech should be manageable. Ready or not, lessons learned roll over into the next phase.

Production

Pipeline it. We are all familiar with bottlenecking. Nothing should make it into development without it being well worked out in advance. Production has its on difficulties and unknowns serves as a distraction. Safeguard your project with a proper breakdown of what actually needs to be done from the perspective of the contributors, stay connected and catalog project feedback.

Deployment

Create an integrations team. I like to mix the old with the new to guarantee delivery. Not a popular approach but the outcomes always exceed expectations. Hidden gems.

Digital Assets

Each feature. Every offering. These are all digital assets. Intel is something i like to know when making budgeting decisions and managing risk/portfolios. Often times included as non-tangible items that are a major part of scope. It can't be both. It never is. I see it to be a serious business. I accept the business these choices generate. and its dependencies are assets. There are some items that should be visualized and calculated. Whenever I have the time I make it a thing to uncover the value of an add or a change. Just like I calculate the risk on creation or implementation. Metrics are as good as they can be read.

Deploy

Iterative process towards releases... that adhere to quality standards. At least, this is how it should be.
